Our Projects
Since our charter date in 2012, the Detachment has been actively committed to supporting our community. In 2012 (our first year), the Detachment event calendar included just our monthly meetings and two parades! We were eager to do more!
Today, our event calendar has grown to include annual projects, such as fundraisers, scholarship presentations, Marine recruitment activities, Marine officer commissioning ceremonies, parades, children's hospital visits, and toy drives. Our Detachment is a proud partner of Wreaths Across America whereby our members play an active role in the placement of wreaths in Brazos Valley cemeteries. We are even honored now to be able to support Fallen Marine ceremonies.
To quote one of our newest members on why he joined: "I saw that the Detachment does some good things, and I want to be a part of it."
Detachment 1391 is a 501(c)4 charitable organization that falls under the National Marine Corps League Parent Group 0955, with a deductible of 1 - which allows organizations and individuals to donate to us as if we were a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
